What kinda roach is it? What most here are describing is an American roach aka wood roach. They have wings, are large, and are flyers. Boric acid products dusted into wall voids around plumbing penetrations(both indoors and outdoors), weep holes, threshholds, windows keep these from coming in form their natural habitat outside.
German roaches are small, don't fly, and are usually found in kitchens and bathrooms. Boric acid products will work for these but we prefer to use baits in combo with a nondetecable residual pesticide. Look for baits that have fipronil as the active ingredient. If you can find it in a spray thats good for crack and crevise application. The 3 products I use are Phantom for a spray. MaxForce roace gel and Avert dry flowabe bait. Phantom has chlorfenapyr as the active ingredient, Avert has abamectin B1, MaxForce has fipronil. Do not use other insecticides with these products because you will cancel out thier undectable qualities.
All that said the worst places I've seen roaches (german) is trailor houses, apartments, and rental centers. The weirdest roaches were the 2 green ones I came across in Beaumont Texas.
