    Water filter

Does anyone have any experience with this brand of under sink water filter.
I'm considering this on a city water supply just for the cold tap in the kitchen.

I have used one. The operative word in their ad is reduces sediment, chlorine and odor. If you have a bad problem, it will still exist, although be reduced. It will take a much more sophisticated and expensive filtration system to make a bad problem go away. We had water that tasted like bleach, and the filter helped, but the problem did not go away completely until the city went to ozone treatment and cut back the chlorine. There is only so much you can do with one small filter. One good thing is that you don't leave a sloppy mess under the sink when you change the filter element.

To go with what UC said, If you are just looking at improving taste and reducing sediment then an under sink filter will work fine. I use a dual setup with a sediment filter and charcoal filter to make the water taste much better. If you need to make the water safer then reverse osmosis with a chlorine filter is what you need.

Basically an under sink filter is a big upgrade to a filtered pitcher but not for getting rid of the bad stuff.

This is the system I have installed to provide whole-house water filtration. After I installed it, I had the house water tested, and sure enough the 3 filter solution has provided me with water that, according to the labs is super clean, the only thing left were trace amounts of chloride, very very trace amounts, and the water from our municipality is awful

Thanks for the replies and advise.
Actually I can easily drink the tap water as it is 'for the most part' safe and not objectionable. Occasionally we get some strange odors that the city says is still safe but what good is safe if you can't get it past your nose.
Our problem is that we have been spoiled on bottled water and I thought this may take it's place. Based on what we drink in bottled water the basic unit would be paid for in less than a year so I think I'll try it. Also, we can easily take it with us if and when we ever sell this house.
The hookup seems easy. As long as I don't have to do any copper pipe soldering!
After the leak I had in the shower faucet upgrade I am beginning to question my skills.
