    Today My Dulcet Darling

told me the upflush toilet wasn't. Pump was running but not flushing. First thing I did was to clean out the bowl. Figured if I couldn't fix it I didn't want that sitting around. The blow-by-blow is a very long story. Suffice it to say it involved a trip to Lowes, dashed hopes, and finally a fix (I think). At least, I got 5 good flushes out of it. I also learned a bit. I will watch it for a while. I also have to replace the seat lid when some duct tape fell on it and cracked it.

This is not how I wanted to spend my Sunday afternoon.

Ugh. Don't remind me. I've told her no solids in it for a while. I am not sure I will ever lift the ban on that. This is probably TMI but I also am still wondering why when it didn't work after my daughter's liquids did they then try solids?

Crockett, are you always doing plumbing projects?? Also, that must of been one massive roll of duct tape!

Can't you just fix the toilet seat with the duct tape? I mean, isn't that what the tape is for?

No I am not but it sure seems like it. Gonna be a doozy of a spring though - all that stuff in my gloatworthy thread has to be installed. *sigh*

Not a big roll of duct tape, but a cheap seat.

I keep a roll handy just for toilet seats.

David is trying to patent structural duct tape.

The irony is the tape was up there holding a small pail under the cleanout while I was doing some testing. I used it instead of a 2x4 because if it fell I didn't want it to break anything.

It might be worthwhile for David to know that duct tape comes in a variety of colors to complement any decor.
