I don't think his gopher bombs did as much damage as the herbicide. They just created a few more hazards, just fill 'em with water or sand.Erik -
I cringe when I see what some people put on their lawns, because we have a well. No telling how much of the pesticides we drink.
EdDo you know about kickback? Ray has a good writeup here... https://www.sawdustzone.org/articles...mare-explained

Amen to that. We live on a great lake. The logic of my neighbors is that, since we don't have wells, it is okay to spray/spread their lawns every month.
I've asked what happens when everyone that lives around the lake uses herbicides and they all washoff into the storm sewers and it all ends up in the lake. But it falls on deaf ears. They don't care!
My lawn isn't perfect. I let the grass grow a little longer before cutting (so it crowds out some of the weeds on its own). I have a lot of clover, but I also have lots of bunnies and I like the little clover flowers, anyhow.
I just don't get it. Some day people are going to regret poisoning our water. By then it will be too late.Comment

There's still a portion of a river that runs through town that is closed to harvesting fish. You can fish, but you can get a ticket if you keep them. They still have a high cloridane level. It was highly used termite pesticide.
I'm still trying to figure out what keeps the fish from swimming upstream past the bridge that indicates the cutoff point for the ban.
