Another thing to add, you may want to look for a certified arborist if you want any pruning work done on trees.

I had a couple of mulberry trees removed a couple years ago, and had three companies give me quotes. Two companies have certified arborists, the other didn't. The one without the certifiedd arborist wanted to do tones of unnecessary work on a great old (100+ years, I suspect) sycamore, as well as the work I wanted. They were teh cheapest price for the removal though. I paid more to go with the more reputable company. It was worth it.

For the record, I think the job was $500-600 for two relatively small mulberries, so your quote looks decent to me.

The job is already done today. I finally let them cut down 11 trees for $1800, which I think is a pretty decent price. Four guys worked a whole day from 7:30am to 5:00pm. I ended have about 10 8' long logs and some mulch that will be enough for my landscape use, they took rest of the fire wood and mulch.

Let it sit for the winter. Mix the pile on a cold day and watch the steam rise from the composting.
