    Looking for Good Plumbing Forum/Resource

I know it may seem taboo to seek advice looking for another forum on this forum, but I am in the need of a good plumbing forum. I've got a few pretty major projects coming up that I need to get some help with, and was thinking a dedicated plumbing forum might be better equipped to answer some of my questions, or, at the very least, have more plumbers around for a speedier response.

Hopefully this doesn't ruffle too many feathers as I think this forum is one of the best and most well rounded out there.

    Thanks,

I wouldn't worry about breaking any netiquette in this regard, Peel. I know you'll get a good response.

OTOH, my advice is to use the Yellow Pages. I used up all my good plumbing karma earlier in the year, when I did a bathroom faucet repair. I went to the depot, found the part immediately, spent 10 minutes installing it, and it worked perfectly.

Then, about a month ago, I boldly started to replace the entire lawn sprinkler valve assembly. It took a month of weekends, including several repeated repairs that wouldn't "take".

Call a plumber, man. It's your only hope.

You can also expect some of the plumbers on that Ridgid site to be rude and obnoxious. For some reason there are a few there who resent anyone that asks for advice who is not a plumber.

Most 'professional' forums are rife with people who think that Plumber's license makes them something special. On par with Lord Jesus Christ at the very least. They are the Gods and the DIY homeowner is an unworthy worm. If only their attitude was reflected in the work they do - both in terms of quality and timeliness/courtesy.

I'd steer clear of the RIDGID and plumbingforum, but others are good.

Oh, and if you are planning a lot of work around house, it might be a good idea to pick a copy of residential codes.
