    Removing dried construction adhesive?

Does anyone know of a good way to remove dried construction adhesive (Liquid Nails)? The previous owner of my house must've LOVED the stuff, because he used it everywhere. The current problem is the fireplace hearth. I'm refinishing the hardwood floors in the living room, and decided to pull up the really ugly tiles on the hearth. Turns out they were just stuck down with Liquid Nails over top of the original tiles (which I quite like, and would like to preserve if I can find a way to get the adhesive off them). The tiles on top popped right off, but there's a lot of glue residue left behind on the original tile. Any ideas?

Goo Gone!!!!! Best thing I have found to get rid of old sticky stuff off things. Have not tried it on Liquid Nails, but I don't see why it wouldn't work.

I had liquid nails stuff to a vertical aluminum door frame. I used paint remover (the thicker, paste-like stuff that clings to vertical surfaces).

Worked like a charm. But I dont know how it would affect the glazing on the tile.

Thanks for the tips! The Goo Gone didn't work, but gel paint stripper took it right off. No damage to the tiles, either.
