Not really home improvement - paint for baggage

After our last cruise I got tired of trying to pick my black baggage out from all the rest of the black bags. Yeah, LOML ties multicolored scarves to each, but one scarf was lost. Picked up 4 heavy bags before I found mine in the airport.

So, I was thinking ... maybe paint a big "X" on each side in yellow or orange. Make it easy to identify my bags. They're made of "ballistic nylon" and have lasted for years.

But ... what paint? What might stand up to baggage handlers, scuffs, scrapes?

    Any thoughts?

I don';t know anything that would stand up. What I have seen is somebody take an upholsterer's needle and sew their initials in bright pink yarn. Another option is a colored strap around the bag.

If your going to paint big X on the luggage, does it really matter how long it's going to last. As long as it last a trip or two. You could always repaint it every now and then.

Some kind of ink would probably hold up for awhile, not sure if you could find something that would standout against black.
