In our recent kitchen remodel we had drilled for a deck mounted soap dispenser along with the faucet and air gap, in the stone counter top. I asked the installer to get the hole as close to the sink as possible to the sink lip. My multiple measurement before hand failed to show me that a rib in the back of the porcelain sink was almost in line with the location of the soap bottle that screws on under the dispenser. The bottle is about 2-1/2 inch in diameter and I am thinking if I can drop it down about six inches it will miss the sink entirely. Or maybe with a long enough tube run all the way down to a half gallon jug set in the lower shelf. Of course would also need a long pick up tube.
The trouble is finding a male threaded adapter that would fit into where the old bottle was designed to screw in. The bottle top is approx 5/8 in dia. and the threads are very course, about 8 tpi. I think this is refered to as the pitch. Looks similar to what you find on most plastic spray bottles but a smaller diameter.
I am contacting the manufacturer (kohler) also but thought the brain trust here may have a creative solution.
Thanks in advance
kk
