    That is why you don't put a fuse in that exceeds the breaker capacity. The wire should meet or exceed the capacity of the breaker. I.E a 20A circuit should not be wired with 14/2. A 15A circuit can be wired with 12/2. The breaker will trip before the wire fails.

      The easiest thing to do is call for service or use a slow burning fuse of the same rating.
