Jackhammered that is.
This is the most physical thing I think I have ever done, including when I used to compete in running races.
Took a shade over 4hrs to break up 13x20(+- a few inches) of slab with a 90lb hammer. Averaged 3-4" thick, but some spots were 6. Then took another 1.5hrs for LOML and me to cart about 3/5 off. The bottom part of the pic is the big stuff we didn't get to today. She still wants to clear more of it, I'm all for having the bobcat spread it out since dirt is gonna cover it up anway.
Stuff I learned:
Make sure you are leaning on the hammer when you start it.
Have 2 bits. It is a PITA when the bit puts a hole through the concrete before it splits it cause then it gets stuck.
The pointed bit does better than the chisel bit.
Wire reinforcement sucks but I guess it is used for a reason.
Rental co. might complain but that heavy hammer made a much better lever for moving concrete than my digging bar. I figured I just rammed it through 4" of concrete, it can survive moving the stuff a few inches.
