nuheat radiant heating under ceramic floor tiles

    hi,

just wondering if anyone knows anything about, or has experience with, nuheat for warming ceramic tile floors?

we are going to be replacing our kitchen linoleum floor with abut 325 sq. ft. of ceramic tile and to keep the floor from being 'stone cold', we are going to install an underfloor radiant heating system.

so far, we have decided to probably go with a system from nuheat - they make thin electric blanket type mats(in all sizes) that install between the ceramic tile and the floor. from the manufacturer's installation guide, it looks pretty straightforward, but there are always some gotcha's somewhere i know.

any advice or tips would be much appreciated.

Will know in about 3 weeks

Our new house is being built and we are going to start flooring in a couple of weeks. Our builder is using a blanket type system. I will ask him and let you know what he thinks. This was not my preference since it adds a 1/4 inch floor height. The easiest product I have seen is Z Mesh radiant heat which is a brass mesh that goes down and adds no height. Also it is low voltage so safer and to top it off, the are no issues with puncturing and breaking the circuit with the Z mesh system. Google and check it out.
The flip side is it is more expensive.

Mike Holmes seems to like the blanket type.
I do like the idea of low voltage though.

I just activated my new radiant floor heat two days ago. NICE! I can't wait to finish the shower surround so I can step out of the shower and onto it. I purchased my system from Warmly Yours. It was easy to install.
