    log siding

I need some help here, I'm finishing my basement and I want it too look like a lodge or a log cabin kind of feel. I want to use what I think they call 2x6 or 2x8 log siding. The only place I can find it is a Menards at around $1.88 for the 2x8 and $2.00 for the 2x6. I was wondering if anyone has another idea for this look, or a different supplier for a lower cost.

Although the favored fuel for firing up the maple sugaring arch they are usually free for the taking up here at the mill.
The outside cuts from logs being cut up for lumber are very often used in these parts as an economical log appearing siding for everything from camps to out houses.

I've seen these advertised at a few places online, most give out custom quotes. I've never bought from any of these places so I can't talk to quality, but they do sell them. Check out http://www.logsiding.com or http://cotton.home.westpa.net/LogSiding.htm (these guys are talking lower pricing on Pine than Menards)
