    Basement Framing

I have to frame a basement and I need to get a Framing Nailer..... I just bought the HF 47065 Compressor: http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/cta...emnumber=47065 Of course I just noticed that some are not happy with this compressor on this forum...... but the price was right. I went to HF looking for this one http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/cta...emnumber=90234 but my store did not have it. I am wondering if I should return the one I got and get the 90234-3VGA online?

The next question I have is does any one have any of the HF framing nailers and can you get the nails for them at stores other then HF??

I have a HF framing nailer and the store is about the only place you can get the nails. Mine is the 28 degree with clipped nails. I see that they have a nailer that will take 3 different degree settings and clipped and non clipped heads. It would be easier to find nails for this nailer. I would buy that one and its on sale this week. I used about 500 nails with only one jam. A lot better then renting or paying $300 + for a name brand.
    Thanks again,
    Mike

Check your local big box stores. Menards, Lowes, and the BORG all carry 28 deg clipped head nails in my area. I have a Stanley Bostitch framing nailer that uses the same nails.

I have the 28deg and could only find nails for it at HF, I have a lot of nails left over, as the nail gun broke after a 14x14 section. I have net yet ordered replacement parts for it, not sure if I will or not, I was not happy with it.
On a side note, some building codes will not allow the use of clipped head nails, you may want to look into it if you are planning anything that you will have inspected.
