    Only way I know to do it is to remove the texture first for the width of the knife. If you don't, it comes off on the knife and fouls the mud on the job you are trying to do. Even if you could get a nice job without the texture coming off, the mud would fill in the texture and you'd have to retexture. anyway.

    To remove the texture, wet it with a spray bottle, let it sit then scrape. The texture should fall straight to the floor. They make tools with a bag attached for this but I just ductape a plastic grocery bag to my knife and it gets most of it.

    Only other way to avoid it would be trim the corners out and not tape, not sure if that is the look you want.

      Sounds good. I think I'd rather not trim it out. If I screw it up too much, I may have to trim it out.
