    Dog on Pergo

I put in a Pergo floor a few months ago and my dog is losing his mind. It is so slick that he can get no traction on the floor. He is now forced to stay in the carpeted bedroom or motionless under the dining room table. He is a 110# Newfoundland and when he goes down the whole house shakes. Is their a solution out there?

Maybe rubber booties for the dog

I don't mind hearing it, but keep it to yourself if it stinks.

Our chocolate lab eventually got used to the floor, though his feet do slide out from under him if he forgets and takes a corner too fast

In all seriousness, some boots might be the answer. If you try these, be prepared for some hilarious motions from you dog at first. We put boots on our lab when we take him snowshoeing, but he always does a funny foot shaking dance for the first few minutes.

new laminate and dogs is always a good for a few laughs. We have a greyhound and a dobbie. THe first few days, the grey would stand stiff legged on the laminate and slowly but surely his feet would start to slide sideways. His stance would get wider and wider and you could see this really wierd look on his face.

Now he can stand flat footed and spring straight up and land without doing the splits.

The dobbie on the other hand still forgets when trying to go from a standing start to full speed or when going around a corner. Usually ends up feet up and ass forward sliding across the floor. So far, no injuries, no damage. Just a few chuckles at the dogs expense

My dog hates the oak hardwood floor I refinished in fall. It took her a week or so to get used to it. When she tries to run or turn fast she lands up wiping out.

We learned not to put anything in the areas around doors. With 3 big dogs and 2 cats all going at once, well you get the picture

a video camera and postage to america's funniest home videos? might not solve the problem, but it could make a little profit off of it.

                      Large area rugs.
My dogs have gotten used to it over time.
I don't know about your dog, but mine would rip those booties off pretty quickly.
