Has the BT3100 been replaced with a new model?

Hi, I know nothing about table saws. About a year ago I was going to buy a table saw for my boyfriend for his birthday, and I came to this site to ask which Ryobi model to buy. I think the overwhelming response was the BT3100. I didn't end up buying the saw at that time because my boyfriend wasn't sure he could fit the BT3100 in his workshop. Well, he's moving and now will have space, but when I looked at the Home Depot website, I couldn't find the Ryobi BT3100 model for sale there anymore. Has it been replaced with another model, or does HD just not carry that model anymore. Do you know who does? Or is there a better model to buy now? Thanks, Suzanne

    Hi Suzanne:

Nope, not replaced. Go to HD web site, search item #348281 and it will pop up. Still the saw of choice for many.

    Your boyfriend is pretty lucky.

A table saw or most any tool for that matter can be a very personal thing. I commend you for your generosity to your boyfriend, lucky guy, but before you buy him the BT3100 make sure that it will be a table saw he likes and will enjoy using.

        Dave,

Why wouldn't he like it? It is, after all, a BT3100 - not your ordinary every day saw.

Maybe her boyfriend isn't as smart as Suzanne.
