What won't glue stick to?

I bought a heavy, vinyl, shower-curtain liner and use that to cover my bench when I'm gluing or finishing. The size of the liner (3' x 6') is wide enough and long enough to cover the bench, with width to spare. I also popped a few grommets in the corners so that I can use bungy-cord to keep it from sliding off the workbench. It keeps the benchtop clean, and dried glue brushes off.

I used to use painters plastic, but I grew weary of it floating about and generally causing more headaches than what it cured.

If at all possible, you need to monitor the squeeze-out on the bottom of your panel. The Gorilla Glue will foam up, squeeze out, and spread between the wax paper and the wood. If you don't get this stuff off before it hardens, it will be nearly impossible to remove.

You might allow it to set up for an hour or two, then go at it with a scraper. I think it cures completely in 4 hours, so is should still be workable after an hour, but have enough grip to keep the panel together.

I guess you could just spray down your bench and the workpiece with silicone spray? [}]
