    Rip fence adjustment

I am the proud new owner of a BT3100 (for Christmas) and have been reading this site since before I bought the saw. You folks are great! I'm not completely "green wood", but new to quality, replacing a >50 year old crapsman. Now my question: I am having trouble aligning the rip fence. I have adjusted, disassembled, reassembled & readjusted, but the closest I can get to parallel is about 1/64" tighter in the back. I am measuring from the same saw tooth with the fence mounted on the right side. Help!

I'm not an "old timer" BT3 wise myself but if by "tighter in back" you mean the fense is closer to the saw blade on the back (toward the back rail ), that's not a good thing. If anything you want the fense a little farther (1/32 maybe ) away from the blade in back. Being closer to the blade could cause pinching which could lead to burning or at worse kickback. I'll defer to more experenced people to instruct on how to set the fence but you might find answers in the
FREQ ask question post at the top of this forum.
    Good luck and be safe.

Welcome to the group Nick. Follow this link to a thread on fence alignment. If this one doesn't do the trick try a search for rip fence alignment on the site. There are many threads covering this issue.

Thanks to both...I take a closer look at the fence tonight, right after I give unto Ceasar (tax day cometh).
