Work table made with 2 X4

Hi,
I have seen this article here or some wood working website that had a simple plan to make a 8 X 4 frame made with lap-jointed 2X4s. The frame was not nailed or glued for easy disassembly. The frame would lay on a set of saw horses and work as a stable base for cutting full sheet of plywood. The saw blade will actually cut into the frame, but after many use the frame can be replaced.

Does nayone know where I can get this?

I built a cutting table out of 2x4's that was in a WW magazine. I did not have plans for it. I use mine very often.

I haven't built one, but if I did I'd use joints that make the 4 sides lock together - like Lincoln Logs do.

I'm in the midst of building a "Cutting System" that I found in the Dec 2003 issue of Workbench Magizine, consisting of a 11" X 11 1/8" gridded Table, a "Cutting Board" (8'), a foldable Dolly to move sheets around, and a modified 7 1/4" Circular Saw. The Saw Modification consists of adding a 1/4" thick ply plate to the wider side to keep it level while cutting. So far, I've completed the Table, the Cutting Board and the Saw Modification. The Dolly is the last item needed to complete the System.
The Table grid is 6' long X 3' wide, mounted on a pair of folding legs that I purchased from Amazon. The Grid is formed of 3" high X 3/4" thick Plywood, 1/2 lapped on edge.

I saw one in a Workbench Mag awhile back. I built my own from my memory of the article. It used two saw horses and 2x4's on mine. I use it all of the time. For me, it doubles as a glue up and assembly table. I throw an MDF sheet or plywood over it and I am ready to go!

I will see if I can dig up the mag.


(Update) It was the Oct 2003 Workbench. I found my copy but there was not any plans included just a couple of pics.

Scott, the plans for that Table are in the December issue of Workbench, NOT the October issue. I have one sitting in my shop built from the plans. It's made of Plywood strips, cut 3 1/2" wide and 1/2 lapped on edge.
