    Yep, I guess that's how it goes. I am reconsidering the sled idea. There is a great video on Fine Woodworking to accompany the jig. Looks like something I can accomplish and can make some jobs easier. But then again, those experienced woodworkers make sooooo many things look so simple when they do it, and then I try and....

      A sled is also useful for more than just jointing with the planer. The sled can be used without the wedges when thickness plaining wood to prevent snipe. This is very useful for reducing waste also it helps when working with thinner stock.
