I'm making my first use of the dado blade, and am already running into a difficulty. I'm making a 1/8" deep by 1/2" wide rabbet in the edge of a piece of baltic birch. The inside cutter (furthest from the sacrificial fence) is cutting a scootch (say about 1/50", or two hair's breadth) deeper than the rest of the dado. In two of my five tests, this deeper gouge is also slightly darker than the others.
I've checked to see that the chippers are not overlapping the cutters, though there are places where the non-carbide ends of chippers are adjacent to the carbide of the cutters. The deeper gouge is deep enough to be noticeable at the ends. Is there some way I can adjust the dado blades to avoid this, or have I been saddled with a defective set of blades?
