    NooB on board

    Hey everyone,
New guy here. Will be lurking and trying to garner as much knowledge as I can from the rest of you.
My wife bought me a used BT3000 a few years ago. I retired 7/15 and am now going to start making sawdust.
Would appreciate any tips anyone can offer that will help with the learning curve.

Welcome Paul! Be sure to check out this thread in Best of Forum. You might also give thought to sending a PM to Lchien for a copy of his compiled and edited FAQ gleaned from information by users of the saw.

Welcome Paul! One of the best tips I can give you for pleasurable woodworking with your BT3 is to send a private message (PM) to Loring (Username LCHIEN) and ask for his BT3 FAQ. Read it, get your saw tuned up, and make proper use of all the guards.

Be sure to include your e-mail so he can send it to you....

First thing I would do after cleaning the saw up and making sure the blade goes up and down and tilts is to make sure the miter sled is aligned to the saw blade. This can be a royal pain but Loring's instructions when followed simplify the task.

Good luck on your retirement and new hobby.

I know it's expensive dear, I should probably not spend the money and just help you around the house instead of spending time out in the garage.

Welcome! And sometimes we act less like noobs and more like other people, as in "Hey, y'all, hold my beer and watch this!"

This is a great place to get questions answered, get advice on all manner of subjects, and once in a while read a pretty good joke. One of the best forums on the 'net!
