    Welcome aboard. Just follow my signature to a very good article Ray wrote about kickback. You need to understand that. Don't rush things. It sounds like you already have that figured out.

    Do you know about kickback? Ray has a good writeup here... https://www.sawdustzone.org/articles...mare-explained

      Listen to what Ed is saying. Used improperly, a table saw is very dangerous, and can maim people not standing anywhere near it. Love your saw, but never trust it.

        This is advice I give out often;
        Take a class at your local junior college, its WW classes are probably full of guys just like you. you'll get personal attention, get to use nice machines, and meet other WW folks.

          Good call, and they are probably fairly inexpensive and better bang for the buck compared to Woodcraft ones.

            In terms of classes I was able to take an Adult Ed class through one of the local high-schools. Cost me $80 -- the class was limited to 8 people and the instructor made sure we had a completed project by the end. Well worth it.

              BTW.. welcome to the forum and you might want to add your location (city or state) in your profile as you might be next door to my or someone's shop. If you want to drop by mine this afternoon, I'll not only show you how to use a table-saw.. you'll be helping cut tails on dove-tail joints by late after-noon. :>)

              Regards..
              I might move to Atlanta to take you up on that:-)

              Free advice is easy to find. GOOD free advice a bit tougher!
