I will be building a speaker cabinet with MDF and will be veneering with paperbacked material, will I have to use a wood filler, or some sealant so the joint does not show thru?
Are you referring to the corners, or in the middle of a panel? IOW, where is the MDF joint?
sorry, didn't make it clear. When I make the 90 degree butt joint, and cover with the veneer, is it likely the joint itself may reveal itself?, I am told "sanding sealer" may help hide this joint...
Fill joint and out to the edge with either spackle, bondo or wood putty. When dry, sand flat with a block sander. Can be as simple as sandpaper wrapped around a piece of wood, held tight. Then veneer. It should not be a problem. Don't sand with anything aggressive like a belt sander. You want the joint smooth to the MDF.
