first project

So I'm ready to start my first project, some simple cabinets (that will also serve as supports for my TS). I'll be making them out of MDF and some recycled kitchen cabinet doors. My first question is how much space should there be between the rails and the drawer. ie If the opening is say 20" and rails (when put together) are 1". If I make the drawers 18" it would be too tight, right? How much play should be added?

Do you mean the drawer slide rails? Pretty sure the normal gap is 1/2" on either side of the drawer.
