Microplane sanding discs

Has anyone ever used the Microplane (I think that's the name) discs on their ROS? I saw these the other day at Rockler and I'm wondering if they work as well as or better than sandpaper.

According to the package, they're the greatest thing since the BT3x00. (Yeah, right...) They seem expensive, but if they last as long as advertised they might be cheaper in the long run.

While I don't personally have any experience with these, I have not heard much good about them. When using a ROS, I'm trying to be careful not to remove too much. I would be worried about quickly ruining a project with these.

I have the Microplane 3-disk set. Want mine? I have returned to using Norton 3x. Much better!

I ordered a set before Christmas for the LOML when I was ordering a rotary cheese grater from them 'just to save on shipping'.

And have not used them yet, but I can comment on the cheese grater

AMAZING!

What surprise me was the grater came in a nice white gift box with a big red bow, no charge, I guess I must of said it was a gift.

I also gave her 3 lbs of Parmigiano Reggiano and the same of Asiago

The grater comes with two drums that attached directly to the drum as well as two handles so all you need to do is split the case and swap the drums.

The course drum makes wonderful long strips of cheese and the short make what could be called ‘snow’ imagine super light fluffy ski powder. What was a surprise was the distinct difference of the parmesan between fine and course the fine was much creamier and the course much sharper.

I think the fine would be good for nutmeg, but the course failed to shred ginger root, it got all packed with the fibers of the root.

I need to sand a secretary desk we got at a garage sale so I will report on the discs when I do.
