    Repair Vinyl Veneer

I am in the process of putting in all new cabinet doors in our kitchen. We have that thin white vinyl(i think) veneer covering the cabinets.

Removing the old hinges left holes along the outside of the cabinets. Does anyone know a good way to fill those holes? Should I just use a white caulk?

    thanks.

It doesn't look like you've had an answer yet, so I'll just say that I've seen caulk cover up a lot of eyesores.

Do you know about kickback? Ray has a good writeup here... https://www.sawdustzone.org/articles...mare-explained

I'm just guessing that what you refer to as "white vinyl" is probably formica. For repairs to holes and cracks, a product called "SeamFil" is sold at a lot of retail places that sell formica and contact cement. It comes in many colors, and there are color charts for colors of different brands of formica as to mixing amounts for the correct shade. It will also work on a variety of surfaces.

It's basically a solvent based putty like material (about the consistency of toothpaste). A spatula or bondo type applicator can be used. It dries VERY FAST and clean up can be done with lacquer thinner or their solvent and a smooth rag. It's easier to work on small areas at a time. It is available as single tubes or in kits.
