I'm finding that a scroll saw is like the ideal xmas tool.

You can make ornamants, outdoor decorations, etc.

I actually made a custom cribbage board for my nieces and nephews with me saw...

That's their last name on the board - There is a big family rivalry One niece likes Michigan State and the Others like Michigan. Notice the 'M' is the Michigan Logo and the 'S' is the State logo

This is another scroll saw xmas present. Its a plaque for an old college friend. On the right is a ribbon made out of edge banding. Its called a mobius strip, a geometrical shape that has only one side! (If you follow the strip with your fingers all the way around, you end up on the other side)

Wall plaques are pretty easy to make I found...

So, BigGuyZ, does this mean you own a Griz G1019Z? That's the only Griz that I could find with a 98" blade on it, but no mention of the riser block. That would, however explain the 110" blade size. I'm guessing that the G1019 riser block would fit the G1019Z, having looked a bit at the manuals for both (online at Grizzley.com) they seem like they might be compatible if not deadnuts the same.

The 1019Z manual says no smaller than a 1/8" wide blade, though. Back to special order format.

Let me know what you find out. Always curious about such things.

Yes it does mean that my BS is a G1019Z

I don't know what model # the riser block is, but the previous owner got it directly from grizzley, so I assume that's probably it.

So yeah, I'm definitely in special order land. Bummer. I think I'll wait until I have more time to really get into making the gifts. After all, I want them to be realy nice peices like the ones I've seen and you all have posted here. I don't want it to be a rushed mess that neither the recipient of myself is satisfied...

Nice job on the crib board & other projects.

How'd you get your scroll saw to make all those little round holes???

                  Here's an update guys.

I decided to go with bowls. I was able to make it all work without having to buy anything other than the blanks.

Here's the thread showing the end result.
