    Can't cut a straight line.

I've had my BT3 for almost 2 years now and I am finally got a worth while project. I am building a doll house for my neice.

The material I am using is 1/4 inch hardboard. I can't seem to cut it straight. Each edge comes out with a 1/16 to 1/8 inch wave in it. No cut I am making is longer than 4 feet.Help.

    Things to check:
    1. rip fence is straight
    2. rip fence is properly adjusted
    3. edge of stock is straight to begin with
    4. Watch the stock along the fence instead of the blade while making the cut
    5. is riving knife correctly installed directly behind blade
Any and all of the above will effect cut quality.

I'll bet the reference edge (the edge against the fence) isn't straight to begin with. Many yards that cut panels down don't cut them straight.

Oh, and if the problem is that the edge against the fence isn't stright to begin with, you can get a straight edge and square corner by using your sliding miter table.

Thanks for the advice. Once I had the sheets cut down to a more managable size things started to go better.

I was trying to cut a small slice on the right hand side of the blade along the fence. I stopped that and started cutting on the other side - my cuts were perfect.
