    Drawer Slides

Re-Doing the kitchen and making new drawers that have slides. Looking at using the KV 1284 series or something similar. Can't afford a ton of money on slides, but most is better than I have now (wood drawer sliding on wood rail in center) (house was built in the 50's). The 1284 series is a bottom side corner mount style, 3/4 extension with 100 lb load rating. Does anyone have a suggestion for something better or another similar brand. Will only need 6 so buying in a bulk pack is pretty much out of the question
It's all good till it's no good any more.

Lee Valley seems to have the best selection and prices that I've seen. I've bought quite a bit of their slides from them and they are of good quality, better than what Lowes sells for about half the price.

The 1284 is not a bad slide. somewhere around three inches of the drawer will remain in the cabinet, unless you make the drawer 3" shorter than the slide. For not an appreciable amount more you can get the basic full extension, side mount slide that will offer full use of the drawer. There are many brands that carry this type. If you can't get a good score online, try calling some cabinet shops in your area, maybe they might have extras or can direct you to where they get them.

Is there anyone that you might suggest that I look at?

I'm not familiar with the Kansas area. Try the yellow pages for your area under "cabinetmakers". or "furniture builders", etc.

This place has decent prices. I've purchased from them a couple times, and have had good results.

            Regards,
