    Laminated Pine

I just got back from HD. I was pricing and checking out the wood as was suggested by a forum member. It seems like Laminated Pine would work best for my needs.

Can you guys tell me the difference between laminated pine and edge glued pine? I saw them both and they looked similar.

Also, in the laminated pine that I like there was a few(maybe 4-5 per 4 feet) very small knots that I don't have a problem with. They were filled with tiny speckles of whitish wood filler though. Can I stain over that and it will it look fine and blend in?

Lastly, I was told staining pine was more difficult then other woods. I was planning on using Polyshades on it, would 2 coats look decent enough(I know that is subjective but I just mean in general)? Thanks for all help as always.

EDIT: I was just doing some searching on the net and some people have commented that laminated pine tends to warp with temperatures changes. I will be using this indoor for a fountain(it won't actually contain the water, a clear acylic box insert will) but I do have an underwater light that after awhile heats the water to about luke warm/warm. Should I be concerned.

On the sign at HD they said Edge Glued Pine(as opposed to laminated pine) would not warp or anything, so I don't know.
