Miter Table

I purchased the accessory kit which came with a miter table. I'm not quite sure what/how to use this for. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

It's installed to the left of the blade. The main purpose is so that conventional table saw jigs and fixtures that utilize the miter slot can be used on the BT. Alot of people have two and mount one on the right side so as to make the top very close to a conventional table saw. Secondary.... it makes a nice filler on the left side of the blade when the SMT is off. Pat
