    What to buy----What to buy

I've come into possesion of $260.00 of Lowes gift cards.
What should I buy next? Drum sander?,,jointer?,,planer?,,drill press??
Or should I just give it up and buy what's needed for a project?
I have a BT3100, belt sander, bench grinder, circular saw, electric drill, cordless drill, cordless circular saw, compressor, brad nailer, and finish nailer. What would be the logical thing to buy next in your opinion?

Router. Without question. Given what tools you already have, and the amount of money at your disposal, a router is a perfect fit and will expand your capabilities more than you can possibly imagine.

This, however, is the general, not-project-specific answer. If you have some project upcoming for which you must have a [insert name of tool here] in order to build the project, then that's what you should buy.

One other possibility, although not exactly a "tool," would be a dust collector.

Put a DC on the list and a ROS, some glue, chisels, block plane, and a tape measure should eat up the gift card.

You say you already got a router? What's your point? Buy another one.

I think I'd go along with "planer", myself. Or maybe a compound miter saw, if you do a lot of cutoff work. Given that you have to shop at Lowe's, those are the best choices that come to mind.

You are obviously too indecisive to be trusted with that gift card. Save yourself some trouble and just sent it to me.

Of the items on your list, I would have to agree with Rod and say drill press. I use mine way more than I ever thought I would, and don't know what I'd do without it.

With the gift card amount that you have I would go with the DC or Drill Press. You could send it to me and I'll buy a drill press with it.

Don't use your card to buy a Radial Arm Saw.

that's what CraigsList is for. They always show up for under $300 on there, much cheaper than store bought.

You're not getting a drum sander from lowes for $300. I would look at a spindle sander or a planer as was mentioned earlier.

I can see this is a real problem, so just send those gift cards to me and I'll dispose of them properly:-)

Or from anywhere, for that little money, to my knowledge. IIRC even that new closed-end Grizzly model is more than that.

OOC, is it possible to get a decent drill press, at Lowe's, for $260? Aside, that is, from the infamous $120 Hitachi, or whatever it was? I was under the impression a DP from one of the big box stores would be ~$100 more, i.e. up around $350.

I agree with Drill Press based on frequency of my use but why don't you ask yourself what kind of projects you plan to work on. If you are thinking pens - get a lathe.
                            Larry,
About drill press and big box stores - My DP is 14" floorstanding Jet from Costco for $170. Does it qualify?
