    Miter Bar -- Sources ?

I see one miter bar for sale on Rocker's site:
    http://www.rockler.com/product.cfm?O...GBHCDADADADBDB

And another on Amazon -- from Woodcraft:
    http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...lance&n=228013

Anyone have other sources ? Or just make your own ?

Big difference in price -- big difference in quality ? The proper fit comes from different means so that may be part of it. Just thought I'd ask for some opinions.

    Thanks,
    Steve

just curious... is this different from t-track? I bought 4' kit from rockler
when it was on sale (10.99). It comes with t-bolts etc.

      Steve,
I haven't used Rocklers or Woodhaven's but I do use Incra miter sliders. Looks like all 3 are adjustable and the Incra is in the middle of those 2 prices, so it's really a toss-up. I use the miter sliders when I will be moving a jig to different miter slots so I can adjust for a good fit. For jigs I only use in one particular miter slot, I make the slider from maple, precisely milled to fit that slot.

      kmk,
Think male/female fittings. The miter bars slide in the T-track or other miter slots.

Yes, exactly -- male / female. The bar and the slot. I was looking for some of the bars so that I could continue building jigs as the need came up. I have my little box joint jig that I built but it'd be nice to see how much more accurate it was with a better bar.

I see a lot of people talking about building fences and such on here from maple. But there are like 10 kinds of maple ! haha Which type is what you would use for something like this ? Sorry if that's a silly question -- I just really don't know !

          Thanks,
          Steve

There are a couple of miter bards from incra, I think they include cross cut cled plans.

Yes it is different. I did the same thing and bought T-track when, unknowingly, I really wanted miter track. I just bought miter track at Rockler and installed it in a router table I'm building, but I'll use the t-track eventually too.
