    sawmill and some Oak

I just found a sawmill in my area that has quite a bit of air dried wood. They are talking about .40 a foot as it comes off the mill. .80 for straight boards. This sounds to good to be true. What am I missing. Most of the other Oak in the area is around $2.50.

That's about what I pay at some mills, a bit more at others. Now that you've found that sawyer, be sure to make friends with him. Make something for him or his missus and he will appreciate it enough to let you know when he has some 'special' wood.

Messmaker- I'm moving to Cumberland Gap, TN this fall. Could you post the name and location of this sawmill please?

I will be glad to after I check it out but the good news is, you are moving to the land of the big trees and east Tenn. has plenty of sawmills. I would not be suprised if you have one within a 15 or 20 min. drive.
