    What's your pin made out of... and if it is free to move up and down...what keeps it plumb? Just a snug fit?

      The pin is aluminum, cut off 3/8" bar, shaped on a grinder and sanded. The piece holding it is a piece of laminate flooring - pretty tough stuff. I was going to glue another bit on the end, and drill hole through both to help keep the rod plumb, but turned out I did not need to, the rod is real steady as is. However, as jig is being used, I suspect that eventually a slight wobble will develop - then I'll need to double up the thickness.

        That looks good. I bought the jig that Rockler sells, but I like yours too. Since I have tools in the States and in Japan, I think I will make one like that for the Japan side.
