I need to fill the grain on some oak for a project. Has anyone tried Wunderfil from Rockler's? How good or bad is it? How hard is it to use? Or do you use something else. Any info would be helpful.

oak has a lot of grain to fill. i used a floor filler from HD when i did my floors. are you trying to fill all the grain?? maybe try a different species of wood.

or try a really dark stain. we used minwax jacobean on our bedroom stuff. turned out nice. it's real dark, you can't see all the grain and it definately doesn't look like your mama's country oak (not that there is anything wrong with that, we just wanted something darker)
