I have all 5 of the shims on one side of the riving knife and it could use one or two more!
Anyway, I must say I am thoroughly impressed with the features and the sturdiness of the entire unit. [^]Most of the old Rockwell and new Delta saws cannot hold a candle to this one. And the little things are important too. Like a plastic case that the hardware came in. That is so much nicer than just a bag fill of nuts and bolts and it assures that you get the correct amount. And the slot for the blade wrench….nice touch. And I did not have to be a contortionist to be able to mount the saw on the stand![:0]
I must admit that a month ago I would not have even considered this saw. I was in a HD and they had a really bad display setup. The SMT was all scratched up and it felt like there was sand under the fence. And when I went to move the rip fence to the right to see how smooth it moved, the right extension table fell to the floor….what a racket that made.[:I]
