BT3100 @HD

Hi all,

'am a newbiew and have just 'discovered' woodworking... Chanced into this site/forums after buying some RYOBI tools and hanging around their forum. At the outset, I must thank you all for sharing all this knowledge :-)

Does anyone know if HD honors competitors coupons such as:

on tools sich as the BT3100 ;?) I think I read somewhere, that this is the case... but unsure.

I believe it depends on the store and its manager. Always worth a try.

I think it depends on if you have a local Harbor Freight store.

I just noticed posts in the "Bargain Alerts" and "BT3100" forums that the stores in Santa Barbara, CA and Fort Worth, TX HD's had the BT3100 marked down to $250. Not sure if these are unique cases or not, but you might want to look into it.

Regarding sales of the BT3100. They do happen occasionally. Best thing is to keep alert and watch the "Bargain Alerts" forum and also keep tabs on your local store. Sometimes they do those "Friends and Family" discount coupons and on occasion you'll see special sales during the year. This past sale on the BT3100 ($200) was a first in my experience, but you never know with HD.

Also, you probably should look into joining the Craftsman Club. It's free and when they have "Club Member" sales, they're pretty good. For instance, they just had one week or so ago and the Craftsman BT3100 equivalent sold for $379. Still a lot more than a regular BT3100, but with the additional add-ons, it wasn't a bad deal.

We get the friends and family coupons because my wife works for Eaton Electrical, and HD sells some stuff from them. I don't know if everyone gets those or not, they are typically 10% off.

I just bought my BT3100 from HD for $200. Got 20% HD coupon from ebay and HD already marked it down to $249. So, it came to $200.
