Table saw help

I am new to wood working. I just bought a used Ryobi BTS15. It's only a year old and in good shape. The problem I have is the blade angle will slip slitely when I first start it. If I set it to 0, the vibrations of turning the saw on will make it slip by about 1/4 to 1/2 a degree. Any suggestions

You may have to put in a call to Ryobi tech on this one. Not too many here that are real familiar with the BTS15.

Welcome to the group. I'm not very familiar with the BTS15. Have you checked to see why it vibrates? Bad blade?

I've read somewhere it might be an inherent problem with the BTS15’s but I believe there is a way to tighten the locking mechanism? I would as mentioned earlier giving Ryobi tech a call and all so check the Ryobi tools website forums. Ryobitools.com

I had a BTS15 till a few weeks ago, when I got a used Ridgid TS3650 and sold the Ryobi.

One of the problems with the BTS15 is the blade angle. It is set by the same knob as the blade height, which already is a problematic construct. There is a friction locking lever that locks the angle, but it really doesn't hold that well, and I never did figure how to make it hold better, even after talking to Ryobi support.

If that 1/4 to 1/2 a degree is crucial, then I suggest you get a better (contractor's) saw. Especially if you do any resawing.

Thanks again. I bought the saw more for construction work then woodworking so the slight blade angle is not too big of a deal. Anything that is supper critical I can square up on my router table turned jointer. Overall, though, I am satisfied with the saw. For a low-end saw, it is much easer to use then I expected. I love the slide table rather then just a miter gage. I'll post some project pictures as soon as I get to something better then basement storage units.

I got mine for $90. Like I said it's a year old and very clean. New ones sell at Home Depot for $170.
