Has anyone every purchased from Cummins tools?

    Hi,
I was wondering if anyone here has ordered anything from http://www.cumminstools.com/index.htm
and if so, what was your experience like?

I saw a few things they had which were cheaper than HF and was thinking about ordring from them.
    thanks.

Never bought from them via online or tent sales, as they have a local one. Their quality is comparable to HF on anything Cummins tool related and they push that line (heard an argument at the store between the manager who makes money on Cummins tool stuff, and an employee who doesn't and doesn't care which brand she sold). I bought my refurbished BT at their store. It is always for sale at $199, though their flyers are known to misadvertise and use the BT3100 image for the BT20 at a lower price.
She couldn't tell the difference between the escape pod, and the bathroom. We had to go back for her.........................Twice.

I bought a refurbished Ryobi 3x21 belt sander from Cummins on-line a year or more ago. The order arrived reasonably promptly (unlike HF for me) and the sander is great.

Most tools are the same quality as Homier or HF.

I have made two purchases from Cummins. I bought the the Cummins branded beltdisc sander online. The order arrived very fast but the quality of this particular sander was terrible. I had to replace the sleeve bearings in the drum after very little usage. The parts diagram in the back of the manual actually states that the parts are for a Craftsmen sander.
The other purchase was from the store here in town. I bought the reconditioned BT. That wasn't a good experience either. However, Ryobi customer service really helped me out with that one.
I cannot recommend the Cummins brand but they do have alot of recon. Rigid and Ryobi tools at very good prices.
I think they are alot like HF. Some good items and bad.

I bought a reconditioned Ryobi planer from them at a tent sale. Make sure everything that is supposed to come with the item you buy. The dust chute on mine was broken. Ryobi sent me a new one. I was satisfied with the deal.

I just got back from one of their truck sales. I have bought several items over the years, Ryobi Laser Miter Saw, Ryobi 2HP Plunge Router, 18 Volt 5 Piece tool Set and some hand tools. Today I picked up a Ryobi 1 1/2 HP R161 Router for $39.99. They had a Ryobi BT3100 on sale for $199

I have bought numerous items from Cummins. Refurb BT3100 for $149, Refurb 10" Band Saw with stand for $110, Belt/Disc Sander Combo for $79, Detail Sander for $10, Random Orbit for $20, 2 HP Plunge Router for $60, and have been happy with all of them. One advantage of having a store locally is the ability to bargain and pay no shipping. NEVER leave without trying to pay less than the asking price... NEVER. EVERYTHING is negotiable. If you notice an item that hasn't been moving so well, make an offer. The manager has the ability to discount anything. Extremely pleased with all of my Ryobi Tools honestly. Dollar for Dollar, you just can't beat em'. Other than that, I wouldn't buy much by means of tools from them, as the quality, much echoed here, is comparable, in my opinion, much worse than HF. Locally you can catch deals like spray paint for $1 a can, Paper towels, hardware, sandpaper, and other bulk items for pennies on the dollar. Hope this helps you with your decision. If you don't have a Band Saw, I HIGHLY recommend the 10" Ryobi with Silent Vac, it's a lot of tool for the money ( should be able to get it refurb from Cummins for around $110 ). Features you have to spend much more money to find in a Band Saw.

There was a Cummins tent sale in my area today. I went to browse and saw a few things I liked. Two items that I thought were good deals were a digital caliper and an 80 pce tap and die set - both $30. but just to be sure I drove down to my local Menards and found exactly the same caliper for $25, and a similar tap and die set also for $25.
From this I learned that not everything they have is a good deal.
Double check prices against you local stores first.
