Back in the saddle again

Well, we finally completed our move to San Francisco, have a two car garage, so I can officially start woodworking.
Last night I bought Sears 10" table saw 22104 !! [:I] Eventhough I had a $500 gift certificate for the Borg, the craftsmans saw was $399 and 0% financing with sears card. So I went non-BT3100. Sorry guys, but I will still be depending on you folk for wanderful advice and knowledge base.

Glad to hear your move is complete and you can get back with the woodowrking again. Don't blame you at all on your saw purchase. Many here would do the same thing given the opportunity.

Pappy, I ended up selling the kayak just a couple of weeks before the move. It was hard parting from it, but not I have an opportunity to build a new one!!!
I'll keep everyone posted of the performance of the saw.

Welcome back mehranh and congrats on the new saw. I'm a non-BT owner too and these folks have always treated me well here. My current saw is a 22124 and am very pleased with it...hope you like your 22104 as well.

Thanx for all the warm sentiments. Actually I live in SF about 1 mile from my job, and I got lucky and got a house with a "big" two car garage, side by side, and definately with room for a shop (with the cars in). I put the craftsman saw together and runs nice. Haven't cut on it yet, but nice saw.
The first project is to build a mobile tool cabinet/out feed table. I'll keep you guys posted

That is fantastic, Mehranh! I'm sure you'd like to be getting the full California experience with a 90-minute commute, but maybe you can save that for the future...

Seriously, you're in an enviable position. San Francisco is a wonderful city. For every one of its foibles (Castro district, Haight-Ashbury, the Giants) there is a highlight (Golden Gate park, the Exploratorium, cable cars, the Emarcadero, Nob Hill). And the food is fantastic - I can think of no other city that offers the range of great dining choices.

I can't wait to see the next kayak. You'll have plenty of oppurtunity to use it around there.

Welcome to SF ---- my favorite place to travel to in CA (big city wise). My brother lived there for about 15 yrs and I would go up there 2 times/yr to build him something. Go visit Mill Valley and Tiburon ASAP. Then go up North a few miles and take in the nature sites.
