Table insert ?

I want to make a table insert to give me more surface area and shure up the accessory table when I put the router table in. Plan on MDF or ply. How do people mount their insert?

Sorry if I'm missing something obvious; doesn't seem like this should be so hard....

Try doing a search (menu above right) on "extension table BT3". There'll be a lot of possibilities coming up. Often, people attach short vertical plywood pieces sticking down from the front and back of a flat table top. They then put bolts through the verticals that screw into T-nuts that slide into the grooves in the insides of the fence rails.

dlminehart, you have just described my extension table. It's just 3/4" baltic with drops to attach it to the front and back rails, works great.

If you have space in your workshop I strongly recommend a Ryobi wide table kit. This kit includes a set of extension rails the same length as Ryobi original rails. The extension rails attach to original rails and make your table 7' long. Hardware to connect rails is inlcuded in the kit and also mounting brackets to attach table insert to rails. 7' table shared between the saw and a router is very comfortable. You have a freedom to mount the accessory table anywhere you want relatively to saw. Also notice - accessory table has a lip to rest a plywood piece on and the height of that lip matches thickness of laminated ply or MDF. The kit is under $100 but make sure to buy the correct version for your saw. There are different kits for bt3000 and for bt3100 and the latter is slightly cheaper.
