I have built this stool project at least four times. It is my own design.


I built one last week for my granddaughter to stand on to reach the easel I made for her (she's only 3, I expect she'll grow into it)
I like my design for several reasons:

I like my design for several reasons:
- make it out of parts of 2x4 and a 1x4
- simple elegant design appeals to me
- low tool requirements. You can make it with table saw and drill
- stable - the base is a little wider than the top and so its hard to tip over.
- Stable - the 2x4s give it weight and low center of gravity.
- Adjustable - you can make it taller and the base gets wider and safer as you make a taller version.
- Key construction feature is a half lap which is fun and easy to make and very strong joint
- Good beginners project if you need one.
- Handy carry handle
