    Gift for grandson

We're planning on visiting our oldest grandson soon. He is in the Navy and is stationed in Norfolk, Virginia. His ship, the George H. W. Bush has entered drydock for overhaul and maintenance. This is a Steve Good pattern. It is made of 1/4" Baltic birch plywood, with a leather hand grip.

That is amazingly well done! I want it for myself now!

Did you paint it, or is that routered or otherwise etched?

Sorry for the late response! We drove to Norfolk Virginia where he is stationed and delivered it! We had a great visit. We hadn't seen him for over a year and a half. This is scrolled. The shield backer was painted. The front layer scrolled and glued. The are is 3 layers thick on the handle. The handle is wrapped in leather. It is made of 1/4" Baltic birch plywood. The pattern is free at scrollsaworkshop.blogspot.com. Steve Good is an amazing source of free scroll saw patterns. I'm glad you like it!
