    lazy Susan

Our microwave oven died. So I decided to recycle the turn table to make a Lazy Susan rather than throwing it in the garbage dump. Used my router circle cutting jig with 1/2" straight cutting bit, cut it 1" bigger than the plate diameter. After light sanding on the edge, Iron on white edge banding on the edges and sealed the bottom with some clear poly. Place 5 clear cabinet door bumpers as the feet 1 on the center and the other 4 spaced evenly along the bottom edge. No need to rout a groove for the rollers as the weight of the object you put on the plate will keep it in place. Important to drill the hole for the hub the right height as the rollers. If you go too deep, can adjust/fix it by filling it with a dowel. Also can put hot pots or plates on it. My wife loved it.
