    A Few Projects

Been awhile since I've been able to devote a week's worth of evenings and a full weekend to the shop so I made the best of the time I had.

Made this on Good Friday, was a big hit at Easter and going to be making some for gifts. Wife keeps it in the kitchen to hold her cookbooks, though I got the idea to make it for a student I have in my evening classes.

Made the oak box on Monday. Got some suede tex on Tuesday from Rockler and tried it out on the boxes. I like how even the suede-tex is. The other box is for my mother's 60th Birthday, which is this Friday, it's maple and walnut.

LOML wanted something to keep her long spoons in, so I made this for her yesterday evening.

All your projects look great, Eric. I really like the corner splines and contrast on the maple/walnut box, though.

I love the splines. I have to try those at some point. Gotta build the TS jig first though. Those are great projects.

Nice work, Eric. The splines add a nice touch to the maple/walnut box.

Of all the "little" projects I've made, the cook book stands have gotten the most use. Your stand, as well as the boxes and vase are excellent and are bound to make someone very happy to receive them.

Nice looking work, Eric. Good to see that you are getting some shop time as well. The one for your Mom's birthday is my favorite. [8D]
