    The tsunami

I drew my sisters in the family Christmas drawing. Wondered what to get her and my wife told me to make her a box. I know I'm a little late coming to this party because there were the rage a few years back.

It's made of 4 different woods, just stuff I glued together to get a piece big enough to cut the box out of. (Alder, zebra wood, African Mahogany, and curly maple pulls)
I used zebra wood for the back (instead of slicing a piece off of the back) and for the drawer fronts. This is my first attempt at flocking. It turned out half way decent. Finished with a few coats of wipe on poly.
My sander isn't set up yet so I used a round over bit on the router instead of sculpting with a sander.
If you've made one of these, you know how much sanding is involved.
    Thank you for looking.

A very well done box. Sometimes the scraps make the most wonderful boxes. Great Job.

Doesn't matter how old the idea is. That looks great. Excellent execution.
