After splitting and stacking much wood for the winter I decided to take a few pieces back to the shop and have some fun. This is eastern white pine that was right in the middle of my budget to get ($0).
Turned tenons on the legs and used wedges to secure them in the through holes. No glue, green wood, keeping my fingers crossed.
My 8 yr old daughter came to help apply the garnet shellac. While we were talking and working she out of the blue says "Ya know, I can't reach the top drawer of my dresser". Too late kid, momma already claimed this piece.. Maybe next time..
First photo is unfinished. Next is the garnet flake shellac, finally with tung oil.
